Today we wanted to share a recipe for cabbage salsa. You might be wondering what cabbage salsa is? It might also surprise you to learn that you’ve most likely had this at your favorite Mexican restaurant.
Cabbage salsa is often served as an appetizer at Mexican restaurants. It is typically served in a small bowl alongside beans and salsa. This cabbage salsa is usually served with chips as an appetizer before your food arrives.
Not only can this cabbage salsa be eaten along with chips but can also be used to top tacos or burritos. It is especially delicious in fish tacos where you want that healthy crunch. You can use this cabbage salsa in place of regular lettuce or cabbage as the greens on your Mexican dish.
This cabbage salsa can’t be any easier to make. You can start off with a head of cabbage and shred it yourself in a food processor or by hand. Or you can simply get a bag of shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix to make it even easier on yourself. You then chop up the other veggies and add the remaining ingredients and you have made yourself some cabbage salsa. It is best to make this salsa several hours ahead of time so all the flavors have time to develop.
