All about Pretzel Spider Webs

The great thing about these Pretzel Spider Webs is that they’re the perfect Halloween party food. Everyone loves a sweet and salty snack. And even better, these spider treats don’t have to be perfect. In fact, they look more like real spider webs if they’re a little messy. It might even surprise you how fun it is drip white chocolate over pretzel sticks arranged in a spider web, it’s almost therapeutic!

These Pretzel Spider Webs are also allergy friendly. Unlike many other spooky treats that use peanut butter, these webs are made with pretzels, chocolate and regular M&Ms. That makes them perfect where peanut allergies are an issue.

These creepy treats are the perfect size for a child or even an adult for a treat or snack. They’re not too big or too filling that you can’t enjoy some other snacks too. That makes them a great addition to your Halloween table. Depending on how many spider webs you need, you can easily make the original recipe, double or triple the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 16 ounce bag pretzel sticks
  • 1 12 ounce bag white chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp coconut oil optional
  • black decorator icing
  • M&M candies Halloween colors

Instructions

  1. Start by lining your cookie sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Lay out as many pretzel sticks as you would like in your web. I did 16 in each of my webs, but you could make them smaller if you want – just make sure there are at least 8 in each web. Form a circle with them, making sure the end of each pretzel is touching in the center. Repeat this for as many webs as you would like to make.

  3. Place 1 cup white chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and add about 2 teaspoons of coconut oil if you want the chocolate to have a nice glossy look to it. Place the bowl in the microwave and microwave for 20-30 seconds then stir. Continue this process until the chocolate is fully melted and super smooth.

  4. Fill a plastic bag with the melted chocolate and cut the corner. Then drizzle the chocolate in a circular motion on top of the pretzel sticks to form the web, adding extra in the center to keep the pretzel sticks together.

  5. Place M&Ms on the web where you want your spiders and use the black gel or the melted chocolate chips to draw on the legs.

  6. Put the pretzel spider webs in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours (or the freezer for an hour) to allow the white chocolate to harden completely before serving.

How do you store these creepy treats?

These Pretzel Spider Webs will keep the best in the refrigerator in an airtight container for a couple of days. You can keep them at room temperature while serving but we definitely recommend them being stored in the refrigerator to prevent the chocolate from melting.
