Today we’re sharing a recipe for BBQ Chicken Pizza. This is hands down one of our favorite pizzas to make and we just had to share this delicious pizza idea with you.
This pizza has become a family favorite. It is an alternative to the traditional tomato sauce pizza but is sure to become a favorite in your home too. This pizza comes together quite easily. It doesn’t take any longer to make a BBQ chicken pizza than any other pizza. You do need to have grilled chicken, rotisserie chicken, or leftover chicken to make this pizza.
What is all the hype about BBQ Chicken Pizza?
If you love pizza and BBQ chicken, this is the pizza for you. This pizza wraps up two of your favorites into one delicious pizza pie. Now if you don’t have the time, energy or courage to make the pizza dough from scratch you don’t have to but it really only takes a couple hours of time, mainly the time for the dough to rise for this pizza to come together with homemade dough.
BBQ Chicken Pizza
The perfect summer time pizza!
- 1 Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 Chicken Breasts or Thighs (Precooked, preferably BBQ or Rotisserie)
- Bacon Crumbles (Optional)
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup red onion, diced
- 1/2 cup pineapple tidbits
- 1 – 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
Preheat your oven to 500 degrees.
Prepare your pizza dough.
Add your BBQ sauce and spread evenly.
Sprinkle a small amount of shredded cheese over the entire pizza.
Evenly spread your (diced or shredded) precooked chicken over the pizza.
Add bacon crumbles, diced onion, and pineapple tidbits.
Add remaining cheese, any all-purpose Italian seasonings you prefer. Then lightly drizzle some more BBQ sauce over the entire pizza.
Bake for a total of 14 – 16 minutes, turning the pizza halfway through the cooking process.

This pizza is really great when you have any kind of leftover chicken. You really only need a few other ingredients to make this pizza and these are usually ingredients you have on hand. You could also add any other vegetables you enjoy on a pizza to this pizza. A small amount of diced jalapeno or pepper would be incredible for a sweet and spicy pizza.
