Homemade Electrolyte Drink

Today we’re sharing a recipe for a Homemade Electrolyte Drink.  This simple and easy drink recipe is the perfect remedy when you are wanting to rehydrate yourself.

This is a great drink recipe and it actually tastes good too.  It is an excellent alternative to the store-bought electrolyte drinks that have been sitting in plastic for months at a time and have a laundry list of unpronounceable ingredients.

Another great thing about this recipe is that it uses a total of 4 ingredients and takes only a couple of minutes to make.  You could replace the honey with sugar or an alternative sweetener like stevia if you needed it to be keto or have other dietary restrictions.

Ingredients

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 1/2 – 2 cups water
  • 2 tsp honey or other sweetener
  • 1/8 – 1/4 tsp real sea salt, Himalayan sea salt, or Celtic sea salt
  • 1 pint sized mason jar with lid

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients into a bowl and whisk well.

  2. Pour everything into a jar and shake well to combine.

  3. Drink, chill or store in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Stocking up on electrolyte-rich sports drinks isn’t cheap and they aren’t always the healthiest.  It’s a good idea to know how to make your electrolyte drink that can also save you money.  You can also get creative with what flavor your electrolyte drink is by the type of fruit juice you use to make the drink. 

How long will a homemade electrolyte drink keep?

This drink will keep in the refrigerator for up to one week.  Store in mason jars or other reusable bottles.
