All about Homemade Naan Bread

If you’ve ever had curry or eaten Indian food you most likely have tried naan.  It is that delicious flat bread that they serve with these dishes.  Most restaurants will have several flavors of naan on their menu.  You will find the traditional plain or garlic naan are the most popular kinds of naan.

The recipe shared today is for traditional plain naan but can easily turn it into garlic naan by brushing it lightly with garlic butter after removing from the skillet.

It is quite simple and easy to make this homemade naan bread. You simply mix up ingredients, let it rise, shape the dough, roll out the dough and cook the dough in a skillet.

Naan is the perfect bread to serve alongside your favorite rich curry.  We also love to make pizza and different types of sandwiches on naan bread.  If you’re in a pinch, you can even use naan bread in place of a hotdog or hamburger bun.  It can really be served as the bread with any meal but can also be used for snacks as well.  It’s ideal for meals with sauces or gravies, and of course, the traditional use of naan is to be used as a utensil of sorts to scoop up rice and curry.  But it can also be served with dips or other snack foods.
