Today we’re sharing a recipe for Lunch Lady Brownies. They’re moist, full of chocolate flavor and absolutely delicious. These brownies are just like the ones the lunch ladies served at school lunch, but honestly this homemade version is even better!
All about Lunch Lady Brownies
You can’t really go wrong with brownies but when you find an awesome recipe you have to share. These brownies are simply incredible. They’re fudgy, chewy, and totally amazing. This old school recipe that those sweet lunch ladies made is to die for!
If you’re a brownie lover, then you have to try this recipe. This recipe is quite simple to make. You can make an 8×8 pan or a 9×13 pan of brownies, whatever you’re in the mood for. You need a few ingredients and a little time, and you can make a pan of these delicious brownies too.
These are great to enjoy by themselves but you can also serve them with ice cream. You can add sprinkles for different holidays or for decoration. If you are trying to watch your sugar you can also substitute some of the sugar for a sugar substitute. As long as you don’t change anything else in the recipe, they still turn out amazing.
Lunch Lady Brownies

Ingredients
- 1 cup salted butter melted
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 4 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Frosting
- 1/4 cup salted butter softened
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 cups powdered sugar
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with foil or parchment paper and spray with non-stick spray. Set aside.

In a large bowl, melt butter and add cocoa powder. Mix until combined.

Add the flour and sugar. Beat together then add eggs and vanilla. Mix just until combined. Don't overmix.

Pour batter into prepared baking dish and spread out evenly. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove brownies form oven and let stand for 15 minutes before frosting. You want the brownies still warm when you frost them.

FOR CHOCOLATE FROSTING: Beat together all the frosting ingredients until smooth. Pour and spread over warm brownies. Let cool completely before cutting and serving.
How long will they keep?
These brownies will keep for several days at room temperature in an airtight container or wrapped. You will want to move them to the refrigerator after a couple of days or if you live somewhere with high humidity to help keep them longer.
