There are different camps of people when it comes to lasagna noodles. Some people prefer the enriched white pasta and others prefer the whole wheat or brown rice lasagna noodles.  Other people buy the noodles referred to as oven ready or no cook lasagna noodles.

What if we told you that you can use whatever lasagna noodles you prefer like the oven ready noodles.  Yes you heard that right, you don’t have to buy the fancy oven ready noodles to make you lasagna using this same method.

You just layer your uncooked lasagna noodles as you would in between the layers of ricotta or cottage cheese, sauce, and more cheese.  Through the baking process, these uncooked noodles become delicious fully cooked noodles.

Making lasagna with uncooked noodles is so much easier. It is not only easier to assemble the lasagna using uncooked noodles but also makes less work for you.  And then you don’t have to fight the lasagna noodles sticking to one another after their cooked and tearing or just not looking as pretty.

We make our lasagna using whole wheat noodles but sometimes we use just the regular old enriched pasta ones. It just depends on the best option available when we go shopping. We then do the layering process alternating the layers of cheeses and sauces.

One really important thing of using uncooked noodles is that every noodle is covered with sauce.  You want to leave no noodle uncovered and this will prevent you from getting any crispy or hardened noodles.  If you can remember this little trick when preparing your lasagna, you will have a delicious lasagna with fully cooked noodles.

We encourage you to try this method to make your favorite lasagna today.  If you’re really adventurous, make your own homemade noodles or pasta sheets. If not, just get some at the store and use what you’ve got available. You’ll have lasagna ready to go for leftovers for lunch or dinner.
