  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 oz semi sweet chocolate
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter cubed
  • 8 oz cool whip

Topping

  • 8 oz cool whip
  • chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips

Instructions

Brownies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with foil or parchment paper and spray with non-stick spray.

  2. In the bowl of an electric stand-mixer, add the melted butter and cocoa powder. Blend until smooth.

  3. Add the flour and sugar. Beat together then add eggs and vanilla. Mix just until combined. Don't over mix. The batter will be thick.

  4. Pour batter into prepared baking dish and spread out evenly. Bake 25 - 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove brownies from oven and let stand until cool.

French Silk Layer

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Add the powdered sugar and mix until combined.

  2. In a small microwave safe bowl, heat the semi-sweet chocolate and unsalted butter in 30 second intervals until melted, stirring well between each cooking interval.

  3. Add the melted chocolate and butter mixture to the cream cheese mixture and stir until well combined. Gently fold in the cool whip.

  4. Spread the French silk layer over the cooled brownies.

Topping

  1. Lastly, spread the remaining 8 ounce tub of cool whip over the French silk layer.

  2. If desired, sprinkled chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips over this layer. Slice and serve.
