If you love the bright, tangy flavor of key lime pie, these Key Lime Pie Bars are about to become your new favorite dessert. They take everything you adore about the classic pie—the creamy, dreamy filling, the buttery graham cracker crust, and that refreshing citrus punch—and turn it into an easy-to-make bar that’s perfect for sharing.
All about Key Lime Pie Bars
These bars are especially wonderful during the warmer months. There’s just something about that smooth, cool lime filling that feels like sunshine in every bite. The balance of sweet and tart is what makes them truly irresistible. The filling is rich, silky, and full of fresh citrus flavor, while the graham cracker crust adds that perfect buttery crunch underneath.
If you have the time, juicing your own key limes really takes the flavor to the next level. Fresh juice gives these bars a vibrant, authentic taste that’s hard to beat. That said, don’t let that stop you—store-bought key lime juice works just fine in a pinch. You can even add a tiny splash of lime extract if you want to boost that citrusy punch a little more.
One of the best parts about this recipe is how simple it is. You’ll start by pressing your graham cracker crust into the pan and baking it briefly to set. Then comes the star of the show—the creamy key lime filling—which gets poured over the crust and baked until just set. After cooling, the bars are topped with a light, fluffy homemade whipped cream that adds the perfect finishing touch.
For a little extra flair (and flavor!), sprinkle some fresh lime zest over the top before serving. It not only makes the bars look beautiful, but it enhances that bright citrus taste in every bite.
