Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp vanilla

Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4-5 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease loaf pan.

  2. Mix dry ingredients.

  3. Whisk wet ingredients separately.

  4. Combine until just mixed but don't overmix.

  5. Pour into loaf pan.

  6. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until toothpick is clean.

  7. Cool for 10 minutes, place on cooling rack.

  8. Mix glaze until smooth. Pour over warm bread. Let sit for 20-30 minutes before serving.
