  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dried cherries chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Add butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar to your stand mixer on medium speed until fluffy, about 1 minute.

  3. Add in the egg and almond extract until smooth.

  4. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt then add to the stand mixer on the lowest speed setting.

  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped cherries.

  6. Roll into 1-inch balls and add them 2 inches apart to your baking sheet, pressing them down slightly to flatten them.

  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let the cookies sit for 5 minutes before removing them from the baking sheet.
