White Garlic Sauce Lasagna

Today we’re sharing a recipe for our white garlic sauce lasagna.  This lasagna uses our famous white garlic pizza sauce instead of the traditional marinara sauce making a delicious alternative.

Due to how much we love our white garlic pizza sauce, we wanted to find other ways we could use this sauce.  This sauce can be used for so much more than pizza.  We have used it as a dipping sauce for breadsticks, a sauce over pasta and recently were inspired to use it as sauce in lasagna.

What is White Garlic Sauce Lasagna?

This lasagna layers white garlic sauce, lasagna noodles, ricotta cheese, mozzarella or other cheeses, shredded chicken, and spinach for a delicious combination.  This pasta dish uses a white sauce instead of marinara and chicken instead of sausage or beef.

Ingredients

  • 3x White Garlic Pizza Sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pkg dried lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or in bite sized pieces
  • 2-3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese you can also use a blend of mixed cheeses
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups baby spinach leaves

Instructions

  1. Prepare your white garlic pizza sauce. Remember to make three times the original recipe.

  2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  3. Whisk the egg and ricotta in a small bowl until blended.

  4. In a 9 x 13 baking dish, spoon about 1/2 cup of white garlic sauce into the bottom of the baking dish. Enough to give a thin layer across the bottom of the entire dish.

  5. Top this sauce with a single layer of dried lasagna noodles.

  6. Top the lasagna noodles with 1/3 of the ricotta mixture.

  7. Top the ricotta mixture with a single layer of fresh baby spinach leaves.

  8. Top the spinach leaves with a single layer of about 1/3 of the cooked chicken.

  9. Top the chicken with about 2/3 cup of mozzarella or mixed shredded cheeses, 1 tablespoon parmesan, and 1/2 cup to 1 cup of white garlic sauce.

  10. Repeat the layers at least twice more. Pour enough sauce and sprinkle any remaining mozzarella or parmesan cheese over the top layer of noodles.

  11. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, until the noodles are fork tender and the sauce is bubbling.

  12. Let the lasagna cool for 15-20 minutes before serving.
